Farley Calls on Gillibrand to Withdraw Support for Anti-Israel Ocasio-Cortez and Salazar

U.S. Senate candidate Chele Farley (R, C, Reform) today called on Kirsten Gillibrand to withdraw her support for anti-Israel candidates Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Julia Salazar.

"Israel remains one of America's most important allies, yet Kirsten Gillibrand has turned her back on the Jewish State by her support of anti-Israel candidates and issues," said Farley.

She added, "Ocasio-Cortez and Julia Salazar are cut from the same socialist cloth as Kirsten Gillibrand. Their ideas will bankrupt America and threaten to undermine America's historic relationship with Israel."

In a recent interview with Margaret Hoover on Firing Line, Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez failed to reject or even walk back the tweets and statements she has made referring to Israel's "occupation of Palestine" and the "massacre" of civilians in Gaza by Israeli soldiers. Despite professing that "Middle Eastern politics was not exactly at my kitchen table every night," Ocasio-Cortez parroted the anti-Israel rhetoric of the far left.

State Senate candidate Julia Salazar is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, (DSA), which voted to endorse BDS at its annual convention and whose members after the vote launched into an anti-Israel chant. When asked to clarify her position on Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) and DSA, Salazar said, "I do support BDS, so I don't mean to suggest that there is an ideological divergence."

"Ocasio-Cortez and Salazar are dangerous. We need to be vigilant against this gradual effort by Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez and Salazar to delegitimize the threat to Israel, and as a US Senator representing the state with the largest Jewish population outside Israel, Kirsten Gillibrand should make a clear statement by withdrawing her support," said Farley.

Gillibrand's support of Ocasio-Cortez and Salazar is just her latest anti-Israel action. She previously supported the disastrous Iran deal, opposed the Taylor Force Act, removed her name from anti-BDS legislation, flip-flopped on the STOP Using Human Shields Act and has joined the hard left of the Democratic Party in supporting Linda Sarsour.

Concluded Farley, "The evidence is clear: Kirsten Gillibrand has placed her 2020 ambitions ahead of America's longstanding relationship with Israel and the safety of the Israeli people."

Chele Farley is an outsider with over 25 years of experience in the private sector. She is the Republican, Conservative and Reform Party candidate for U.S. Senate.
